Can she go back to him even afte [ Julian MacTavish is madly in love with his wife as she is with him When a jealous woman plants seeds of doubt in Patience s mind, they fight and she goes to visit her family She needs time to think Can she trust her Highlander She s a Rockwood and won t give in to fear Tragedy overwhelms her when a deadly fire sends Caleb and Devin plunging to their death and she is scarred by the flames Broken in spirit, she hides from Julian even though she still loves him Can their love survive such a tragedy [ This book actually had alot packed into the first few chapters But it does not sizzle out, oh no this book keeps you glued to the kindle for the entire story.
Patience has a lot to deal with Should she trust her husband s word, should she see him after she is injured Should she then go to him when he is later injured in an accident What are her feelings for him throughtout the story Its such a rollercoaster Julian tries to hard to be steadfast, but he is always loyal I received my copy for review [ Monica Burns knows how to captivate her readers The Highlander s Woman is an irresistibly delectable find Julian and Patience are hopelessly in love with each other However, it takes a tragic turn of events for them to understand the power of that love Ms Burns took a simple tale of lack of trust, secrets and uncertainties and turned it into an engagingly sensual story of love and devotion I received an ARC of The Highlander s Woman in exchange for an honest review.
Love this bookI found this book to be a well written book that is wonderful to read It has held my attention and kept me coming back to read it and Monica you have done a wonderful job of giving your readers a visual insight into the characters personality Good job I look forward to reading about the Reckless Rockwoods. Melodrama, yet still engagingCould this many bad things befall one loving couple Doubtful, yet with each new tragedy the threads holding together a 19th century relationship begin to weaken It s like watching a tightrope act I thought the ending came a little fast and I tripped over a few anachronisms.
Julian is one passionate man when it comes to his woman, the anger on his face made her eyes widen You re mine, Patience MacTavish I did no marry you because I needed an heir I married you because I could no live without you I liked this book at times my heart broke but when Julian and Patience showed their true strength it was amazing These two have so much love for each other.
The Highlanders Woman by Monica Burns Married quickly there is misrust which leads to misunderstandings, especially when it comes to the woman his father wanted him to marry But the attraction between them can t be denied Will they ever trust each other Will love overcome misrust A very well written book that captures your attention and keeps it.
The solution was to create an event that impacted every single member of the Rockwood family. It had to be harsh, poignant, and frightening.
But most of all, it had to be something that would push Patience and Julian apart so they would have to find their way back to each other again. I believe I managed that while offering up the possibility of stories from the younger members of the Reckless Rockwoods. Some authors plot out their books, and their series. Some are like me. We're what they call pantzers.
We write by the seat of our pants without any thought as to how something is going to turn out. We're the rebels, the loose canons in the book world. We're cowboys pulling our weapons and winging our mayhem over all our characters. Suffice it to say, I'm pleased with my resolution to a number of questions about the Reckless Rockwoods.
I hope you enjoy my solution, and enjoy Patience's and Julian's romance. From the Back Cover Enjoy one of the best Highlander romance books of The Reckless Rockwood series is a family saga about men and women whose motto is to never refuse a challenge no matter what the reason. Whether it's scandalous seductions, wild, wanton pleasures, suspenseful intrigue with ghosts or psychics, or tragedy of one sort of the other, each book focuses on one family member's relationship with their search for that love everlasting HEA.

A workaholic wife and mother, Monica is a survivor who believes every hero and heroine deserves a great romance story especially if she's writing it.
I admit to being a little disappointed, but I suspect that is more because my expectations were so high. The story begins with the two protagonists already married and deeply in love, which is fairly unusual.
But external factors start to sow the seeds of discord, and although they do not fall out of love, they begin to doubt each other as a result of the events that follow.
Patience Rockwood and Julian MacTavish meet, fall in love at first sight and after a whirlwind courtship, they marry. The Laird of Crianlarich is an autocratic and dictatorial man who took a dislike to Patience before he had even met her because he had already picked out a wife for his son, the young and beautiful daughter of a friend and neighbour.

So Patience needs to prove too Julian that she has always loved him no matter what, but how is she suppose to do that? You will have to read this beautiful written story and find out. This is a wonderful fast paced, page turner with so many twists and turns you wonder how this can be resolved with so much heartache and tragedy. I really felt for this couple to go through so many trials and tests at the beginning of a new marriage that should be nothing but happy and joyous.
This was extremely well written and it had all the elements romance readers love in a spectacular Scottish historical romance mistrust, deceit, betrayal, misunderstanding, heartbreak, sympathy, miscommunication, forgiveness and love.
