Cannot edit details of downloaded files

With this I conclude that the erroneous behaviour of fields being in non editable condition pertains to the very file data. It happens. That's too time consuming, and too many steps It worked perfectly for me. I had the same problem and went looking for the answer on the web. This is what I found that works:.

If you have iTunes you can edit your tag info. Open the track in iTunes, right click on the track listing and you'll get a menu. Select "Get Info" and you get a box with tabs. Select the "Info" tab and you will see your tag info. Make the appropriate corrections and select "OK. That doesn't work. That will sort your files by your edited information while in iTunes, but the core file will not have changed.

If you move them to any other program or reinstall itunes, you will just have to edit the info again. I know this is a few years old, but I couldn't find a solution I added the album to a Windows Media Player playlist and tried to edit it there. While it temporarily allowed me to rename the files, it was only a temporary fix for Media Player specifically I have a Zune and figured I would just add the playlist to the Zune player and edit it, and then sync it while the names were still how I wanted them even if it didn't change the actual file.

As odd as this may be, the Zune software completely renamed the files themselves. While Windows Media Player only updated the information for my Windows Media Player playlists, the Zune software actually changed the file information. That could have just been worked in my case, but it's worth a shot if anyone still has this problem and has the Zune player software.

Just throw it into the Zune software database, edit it, then reload the containing folder in windows exporer and see if it helped.

Good luck! Oh and Manu, this is "technically" a solution from Microsoft, at least by their program I've been using mp3tag to fix the messed up mp3 files. It will then write to the files. I finally found a solution over at hydrogenaudio's forum where someone suggested that it was possible the mp3's had "chained id3 tags. It's my understanding that windows 7 and obviously wmp do not support the id3v2.

The solution suggested which worked for me was to use foobar Load your music library or afflicted mp3's and select all. Finally select the 'Update Files' button and let it process. Hope this helps somebody! All, if you are still having this problem and you have dBpoweramp installed, make sure you have the latest version It worked for me, you should change the version of ID3 tags in iTunes and then keep the changes.

It'll work. Thank you very much I was struggling with this issue and your solution saved my time!!! Thank you!!! Simply download, open the program and re-tag whatever you need, and delete it. Clean, fast, no install. Sidenote: you can also use tagscanner to save changes to all tags at once id3v1, id3v2 and ape.

Guys, I'd suggest using an id3tag editor like TagScanner. It's free and the developer even made a portable version , which means you don't have to install shit. This problem persists win7 x I can manually edit the properties of each file individually not by selecting all at once, that also won't save the info in the explorer, but there is way too many files to do so individually. I have stated editing the info in itunes, and the info added there sticks, but for itunes only, the windows explorer and mp3tag do not accept the infos added in itunes, and show the id3 tag as blank.

Is there a working workaround the abovementioned didn't work for me so far? Edit: Just tried editing the files in XPsp3, works like a charm, in mp3tag, win explorer selecting all files at once and itunes all the same. Then after adding new tags, make sure that they're in ID3v2. This is a problem in Windows 7 and perhaps other versions but not in Windows XP.

This is clearly a problem on Windows 7 that needs to be fixed. I can't comment on the other work-arounds proposed here, but it you have access to a Windows XP machine, that might be a good way to fix your ID3 tag problem.

But I'm sure the tag is saved cuz I can see it if I open the mp3 file in foobar or iTunes, but in explorer, I cannot. What's wrong with it? Tried a few things and this one worked.

Anyone that needs to fix the tags on their music should try this. Foobar is a music player that you might like also, I had VLC so it was just replaced. Plus now I can fix all my music the way I like. To add to this here is a site from Lifehacker of 6 IDV3 tag editing software and most of them are free.

Just drag and drop the files in question and you can edit them all in Excel-like ability. Using arcane command line prompts is NOT the way a UI that is graphical is supposed to be used in our modern age. Otherwise we would all be using command lines to get everything done. This worked for me, I was having troubles with some. This is what worked for me, for other individuals it may differ however try this method first if you don't want to use converters and other things which drop the quality of the file.

If you would like a video tutorial and I get a high enough demand, I will upload one to YouTube and link you guys to it. Now the album name shows up and I can also edit the other fields. Right click the mp3 file, select Properties, Details, "Remove properties and personal information" blue text near bottom of dialog box , "Remove the following properties from this file", select the properties to be edited, click OK, then edit the properties.

This problem occurs if the Do not save encrypted pages to disk option in Internet Explorer is selected. To download files, Internet Explorer must create a cache or temporary file. In Internet Explorer 9 or a later version, if the file is delivered over HTTPS, and any response headers are set to prevent caching, and if the Do not save encrypted pages to disk option is set, a cache file is not created. Therefore, the download fails.

But if you check out the file before you open it, other authors are locked out of it until you check it back in. Check out or check in files in a document library. For example, if the file has been opened in Excel , then coauthoring isn't available. Ask them to save and close the file as soon as they're finished in order to unlock the file for you. This also applies to you, of course, make sure you're using the current version of the Office application.

The coauthoring functionality is available when a document is saved on a SharePoint Foundation site that supports Workspaces, on SharePoint in Microsoft , or on OneDrive. If the file is saved on some other kind of server, however, it's possible that the server it's stored on doesn't support coauthoring.

If any of those are the case, and somebody else has the file open, you won't be able to edit until they close it. The coauthoring functionality is not available for. Sorry this didn't help. Try to save it also in. If problems persist. Additionally, please do assure that files or word document is not in read only mode. May I confirm if you are using Microsoft Word Application in your mobile phone? If does, you can find the save or downloaded file either in 2 location; 1. If you have more concerns feel free reply.
